Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani feels that getting on the pitch in friendly matches is an important part of getting back into the best physical condition for the restart of the season next month.

Speaking to InterTV after the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 win over Reggina in a friendly match, via FCInterNews, the Albanian also noted that he is increasing the chemistry that he has on the pitch with his teammates by playing more together.

Inter have only a couple weeks left to go before they face Napoli in their return to Serie A action on January 4.

After this, things will hardly get easier, as the Nerazzurri are set to play twice a week until the end of February, between Serie A, the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa Italiana, and the Champions League.

Accordingly, any chance to build up fitness and get back into their rhythm is invaluable for the players.

Today’s match against Reggina was one such opportunity.

“We played a good match against a good team who are in form,” Asllani said of the win over Reggina.

“Matches like this are important because we get playing time in our legs, and playing helps me build trust with my teammates.”
