The inclusion of young midfielder Giovanni Fabbian in an offer could be the key for Inter to unlock a deal to sign Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who reported this afternoon via FCInterNews that Scalvini is a major target for the Nerazzurri, and that they believe that Fabbian could go some way towards meeting his €40 million valuation.

Scalvini is a target for Inter precisely because they are aiming to reinforce their defense for the long term.

Whether or not Milan Skriniar decides to extend his contract, there is also the uncertain futures of Stefan de Vrij, Danilo D’Ambrosio, and Francesco Acerbi to consider.

For this reason, the Nerazzurri feel that 19-year-old Scalvini would be an important investment for the future.

Atalanta value the young defender at around €40 million.

However, La Dea are interested in signing young Nerazzurri midfielder Fabbian off the back of his outstanding form on loan with Reggina.

Inter value the 19-year-old midfielder at no less than €15 million, around what they did Cesare Casadei, and feel that this means he could be key to succeeding in their pursuit of Scalvini.
