Former Inter defender Antonio Paganin feels that it would be very unfortunate if the Nerazzurri were to lose CEO Beppe Marotta.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, via FCInterNews, the former defender also stressed that losing defender Milan Skriniar would be a calamitous error by the club.

Marotta’s future has been the subject of some speculation, namely because of the fact that his former employer Juventus are on the lookout for candidates to join their new board of directors.

Given the exeuctive’s long history with the Bianconeri, of whom he spent nearly a decade as the General Manager of Sport, he would certainly constitute an attractive possibility for them to try and appoint steady the ship.

Conversely, given the quality of the CEO’s work at Inter, losing Marotta could prove to be a real blow for the Nerazzurri.

“Losing someone like Marotta would be serious,” Paganin said of the possibility.

“He would play an important role in the event that the club were to change hands, too.”

“Given that they are changing their directors, Juventus could make an offer to him, but I would be sorry to see him go.”

Of the possibility of losing Skriniar on a free transfer, Paganin said that “It would be a total blunder to lose him on a free transfer.”

“It seems similar to the situation of Milenkovic-Savic at Lazio to me, where they overvalued him and now risk losing him for nothing.”

“Now we’ll have to see what the player’s position is,” Paganin added.
