Inter have not given up on the possibility of signing Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah next summer as a replacement for Roberto Gagliardini.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio is hopeful of getting a deal done, possibly on the basis of a loan with a purchase obligation.

Inter have been tracking Musah as an ideal midfield reinforcement, given that the 20-year-old has a similar profile to Nicolo Barella, but is also versatile to add depth all throughout the midfield trio.

Accordingly, the US international is one of the Nerazzurri’s main targets to replace Gagliardini in midfield.

Valencia value Musah at around €20 million, which could make a deal difficult for the Nerazzurri.

However, Inter would be ready to make an investment in the midfielder if sales are made, and could try to get a deal done by signing Musah on loan initially with an obligation to buy him permanently at the end of next season.
