Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is set to return to training with the Nerazzurri around the end of December.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, who report that the 25-year-old will be back from his post-World Cup vacation on one of the final days of the month, and that his availability against Napoli will be a doubt.

Given that Martinez went all the way with Argentina at the World Cup, winning the trophy, the 25-year-old will be the latest-returning Nerazzurri player from the tournament.

Martinez has been granted time off after the tournament as all Inter players who participated did.

Apart from having time with his family, and a period to rest and recover physically after the World Cup, the celebrations of Argentina’s triumph at the tournament are also to be taken into consideration.

Accordingly, it is likely that Martinez will return on one of the final days of December.

Given that this will only given the Argentine a few days to train before Inter’s return to Serie A action against Napoli on January 4, his availability for that match will be a doubt.
