Henrikh Mkhityan could become a “luxury option” for Inter coach Simone Inzaghi over the second part of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908, who argue that the Armenian could play the role of a tactical tweak that allows the coach to change the look of his team in different matches.

For the second half of the season, Inter will have to face a large number of matches in a short space of time, with each one presenting different kinds of tactical challenges for coach Inzaghi.

For this reason, a player with the versatility of Mkhitaryan could be invaluable for the coach.

The 33-year-old will be capable of playing as a striker, based on the success of his being tested in the role during the World Cup break.

This can allow the coach to alter the way his team plays in attack against the teams lower in the Serie A table who can be expected to sit deeper and defend rather than allowing space on the counter.
