From Alessio Cragno To Neto, Inter Assessing Their Options For Samir Handanovic Replacement, Italian Media Report

Inter are assessing all their options as far as a possible replacement for Samir Handanovic should the captain leave in the summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that from Monza’s Alessio Cragno to Bournemouth’s Neto, the Nerazzurri are casting a wide net.

Should Handanovic not extend his contract past the end of the season, Inter will look for a suitable replacement as backup to Andre Onana.

So far, the Nerazzurri have not zeroed in on any one profile, although they are keeping track of a number of possibilities who would be able to take the Slovenian’s place.

Cragno is certainly one, as Monza would have the obligation to sign the 28-year-old permanently from Cagliari if they reach safety in Serie A but he has yet to play a minute in Serie A for the Brianzoli.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth’s Neto has been another name strongly linked to the Nerazzurri, considering that CEO Beppe Marotta is a big fan of the Brazilian, and he would be available on a free transfer in the summer.

However, neither of these players have emerged as the clear favourites according to the Corriere.

The newspaper reports that, as of yet, the Nerazzurri are still taking the time to assess all possible options to replace Handanovic should the captain be on his way.
