Inter-owned striker Martin Satriano is hoping that he can score more goals with Empoli over the rest of the season.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Pianeta Empoli after his team’s 2-1 friendly win over Sassuolo, via FCInterNews, the 21-year-old noted that he can hardly wait to get back to action in Serie A after the unusually long winter break for the World Cup.

Satriano has managed just one goal so far in Serie A this season on loan with Empoli, having also assisted a goal.

The Uruguayan has showed decent form in terms of his overall play, but has hardly emerged as a prolific goalscorer playing for the Tuscans.

After well over a month away from Serie A, Satriano and Empoli will return in just over a week, and he will be hoping that he can find his shooting boots on a more regular basis.

Of the team’s preparations, Satriano said that “On a physical level I’m doing well, as are my teammates.”

“We are working on a number of aspects, personally I want to score more goals.”

“On a collective level, we all need to improve together by keeping up with the work we’re already doing,” he said.

“We’re really anxious to get back to action in the league, it’s been difficult to be away for so long,” Satriano added.
