Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi still believes that a comeback in the Serie A title race is possible despite the quality of Napoli.

Speaking in an excerpt from the “I Re Di Calcio” broadcast on Italian broadcaster Italia 1, via FCInterNews, the coach emphasized that the Nerazzurri have not given up for the Scudetto.

Inter’s comeback in the Scudetto race from an eleven-point deficit would be difficult enough against any team, but is even more so considering the form that Napoli have been over the first fifteen matches of the season.

The Partenopei have won thirteen and drawn just two of their league fixtures so far this campaign, whilst they also recorded a memorable 3-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League.

Reining in a time like Napoli will not be easy, but for his part Inzaghi has not lost faith that it will be possible over the months that remain this season.

Asked if he thinks the Serie A title is still a possibility, Inzaghi responded “Absolutely, yes, this long break is something new that all of us as coaches have to deal with.”

Inzaghi continued that “Napoli have been doing something extraordinary, which has only been amplified by the slip-ups made by the teams around them, starting with Inter.”

“The gap in the table was smaller a year ago,” he continued, “we were all within three points then.”

“The gap widened now,” Inzaghi noted, “Napoli have managed something that no one else in Europe has been able to.”

“We and the rest of the teams around them know that what we’ve done so far can’t be enough”
