Inter will only extend striker Edin Dzeko’s contract if it is at a reduction compared to the wages that the 36-year-old currently earns.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Bosnian is currently the Nerazzurri’s fourth-highest earner, and that he has an offer on the table from Turkish giants Galatasaray worth what he currently earns at Inter.

Dzeko currently earns around €5 million net per season on the two-year deal that he signed to join from Roma in the summer transfer window of 2021.

The former Manchester City and Wolfsburg striker would be expected to take a pay cut if his contract is extended.

The Nerazzurri are keen to extend Dzeko’s deal, but are also looking to reduce their wage bill.

In the background, Galatasary have offered the Bosnian striker a deal at around what he currently earns at Inter, hoping to convince him to join on a free transfer in June.
