Inter are set to focus on the summer transfer window next month rather than making any sales or signings during the January window.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported on air yesterday afternoon via FCInter1908 that the Nerazzurri will try to plan well in advance to make the team more competitive, starting with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram.

According to Di Marzio, there is little chance of any significant activity from Inter in January, barring surprise offers or opportunities.

However, this does not mean that the club will not be active in other senses.

Apart from working on a number of contract extension situations, the Nerazzurri are also hoping to plan well in advance to give coach Simone Inzaghi the signings he needs in the summer.

Foremost among these would be Gladbach striker Thuram.

Signing the 25-year-old on a free transfer in June ahead of the significant queue forming will not be easy, but the Nerazzurri believe it will be possible if they work on it starting in January.
