Atletico Madrid could well join Inter in the crowded field of teams pursuing Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram now that they have completed a deal to send forward Matheus Cunha to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Colchoneros’ interest in Thuram could further emerge now that there is a vacancy in their attack.

Inter have been pursuing Thuram for some time, whilst the fact the 25-year-old looks set to be available on a free transfer at the end of his contract with Gladbach means that a number of Europe’s elite are also keen to snap him up next summer.

Top teams in Spain have been among those linked, with Atletico’s name having been in the mix.

Now that Cunha has left for the Premier League, and with the future of Joao Felix also up in the air, the Madrid-based side could see Thuram as an ideal solution and step up their interest.
