Monza would be very interested in signing Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio if the 34-year-old does not extend his current contract with the Nerazzurri past the end of June.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that the player’s priority is to extend with Inter, but that if he does not then the Brianzoli have made him a target.

Inter are set to make D’Ambrosio a contract extension offer past the end of June 2023, having already begun the talks with the former Torino defender and his representatives.

For his part, the 34-year-old is keen to stay for at least one more season.

However, should the talks between D’Ambrosio and Inter not lead to an agreement on a new deal, then Monza would be ready to swoop in.

The Lombard club are looking to add top-flight experience and quality to their squad, and would see D’Ambrosio as an ideal reinforcement in this respect.
