Inter have set the new deadline for Milan Skriniar to give his response to their contract extension offer at January 18, the date of the Supercoppa Italiana match against AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri will wait as long as they can, but have informed the defender’s representatives that they expect a response by the time the team travel to Saudi Arabia in mid-January.

If Inter had been hoping to end 2022 with clarity on Skriniar’s future, this has not come to pass.

The 27-year-old’s hoped-for response to the offer that has been on the table for several weeks by Christmas did not arrive.

Now, the Nerazzurri are hoping that the response will come by mid-January.

Inter travel to Riyadh to face Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana match on January 18, and the club will expect Skriniar’s defensive response by then.
