Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin expects that Inter will try and convince defender Milan Skriniar to agree a contract extension by offering him greater add-ons.

Writing in an editorial for Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInter1908, Biasin explained that the Nerazzurri want to get talks wrapped up by the time of the Supercoppa Italiana match on January 18, and that add-ons could be key.

Inter have effectively gone as far as they possibly can with their contract offer to Skriniar.

The offer has been on the table for several weeks, and the player has yet to make a final decision.

Given that the 27-year-old doesn’t yet look to be convinced by the Nerazzurri’s offer, and the club do not feel that they can go any higher, something else could be needed.

According to Biasin, it could be add-ins that serve to get Inter closer to Skriniar’s demands so that a new deal can be agreed.

“The new deadline has been set for mid-January, sp before the Nerazzurri leave for Saudi Arabia,” he writes.

“The offer is always the same: €6 million net per season, plus add-ons, whilst his request much higher.”

“They’re working on the aforementioned add-ons in the hope of bridging the gap.”
