Marseille are keen on signing Inter defender Stefan de Vrij on a free transfer next summer.

This according to French news outlet Footballclubdemarseille.com, who report that the Ligue 1 side are taking steps to try and bring the 30-year-old in when his contract with the Nerazzurri runs out at the end of June 2023.

De Vrij has yet to make a decision on his future, and will take the next few weeks to decide on whether or not to accept the Nerazzurri’s contract extension offer.

Should the Dutchman decide against extending his stay in Milan, a number of clubs would be interested in signing him on a free transfer.

According to FCM, Marseille are among the clubs tracking de Vrij.

Marseille President Pablo Longoria is monitoring the situation, and if the French side sense that a free transfer opportunity is possible then they will not hesitate to move to try and sign de Vrij.
