Inter wingback Matteo Darmian is very likely to extend his contract with the Nerazzurri past the end of June 2023, whilst defender Stefan de Vrij is still considering his future.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that an agreement is close between Darmian and Inter, whilst de Vrij has the club’s offer but has not made a decision.

Inter are looking to reach clarity regarding the future of a number of players whose current contracts run out at the end of June 2023.

In the case of Darmian, the negotiations look to be relatively straightforward.

The Nerazzurri are on the same page as the former Manchester United, Parma, and Torino player, and so only a few details remain before an agreement on a contract extension arrives.

On the other hand, de Vrij is still considering his options, and it could be a few weeks before a response arrives from the Dutchman to Inter’s offer.
