Reggina Sporting Director Massimo Taibbi expects that there is no chance of Inter-owned midfielder Giovanni Fabbian ending his loan spell with the Calabrian club early in January.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Antenna Febea, via FCInterNews, Taibbi made clear that the 19-year-old will remain with the Serie B at least until the end of the current campaign.

Fabbian has been one of the breakout players in the Italian second division this season.

The Inter-owned youngster has played a key role for Filippo Inzaghi’s side as they have emerged as one of the favourites to reach promotion to Serie A, currently sitting second in the table.

The form that the 19-year-old has naturally made his future a topic of discussion, and led to transfer speculation around him.

If there was any speculation that Fabbian could depart as early as the January transfer window, however, Taibbi has poured cold water on it.

Asked about the transfer market, Taibbi said that for January “We want to do as little to hurt the balance as possible, we have clear ideas of what we want to do in the market.

Regarding Fabbian’s future, the Sporting Director made clear that “He won’t leave, he’s 100% staying.”
