Torino are pushing to sign Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini during the January transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper La Stampa, via FCInterNews, who report that the Granata have made the 28-year-old one of their main targets for January, and would be ready to sign him for a fee rather than waiting for his contract to expire.

Torino had already been targeting Gagliardini during the summer, but in the end the former Atalanta midfielder stayed at Inter.

The 28-year-old is in the final season of his contract with the Nerazzurri, and there looks to be no chance of an extension being agreed, meaning that he will be available on a free transfer at the end of June 2023.

Torino may not wait that long to try and sign Gagliardini, however.

According to La Stampa, the 28-year-old is one of the Granata’s main targets to strengthen for the rest of the season, and they could push to get a deal done next month.
