Atletico Madrid are currently the favourites to sign Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, but Inter could emerge as major suitors in the event that Nicolo Barella were to leave.

This according to UK tabloid the Daily Mail, via FCInterNews, who report that a potential pursuit of the 23-year-old Argentine would likely be linked to a departure of Barella for the Nerazzurri.

A number of teams around Europe are taking notice of Mac Allister after he shone for Argentina at the World Cup in Qatar.

The 23-year-old is under contract with Brighton until the end of June 2025, and they would demand around €35 million for him.

According to the Daily Mail, Atletico have emerged as the suitors likeliest to sign Mac Allister at the moment.

Meanwhile, the likes of Arsenal and Juventus have also been linked.

Inter are also admirers of the Argentine and could make a move to sign him, although this would likely only be in the event that Barella were to be sold.
