Borussia Monchengladbach are keen to sell striker Marcus Thuram during the January transfer window rather than losing him on a free transfer next summer, but Inter would currently lack the funds to move for him.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri would have to make a sale first to afford the Germans’ asking price of around €10 million for Thuram.

Gladbach are not relishing the prospect of losing Thuram without a transfer fee when his contract runs out at the end of June 2023.

Accordingly, the Corriere della Sera reports, the Bundesliga side would be ready to listen to offers of a minimum of €10 million next month so that they can cash in whilst they still have the opportunity.

The Nerazzurri would be interested in making a move for the Frenchman as early as January in order to beat out the competition for his signature from some of Europe’s heavy-hitters.

However, as of now the sufficient funds would not be available, and so a sale would be needed first.
