Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is keen to add more players to the squad who are capable of beating their man on the dribble as Ivan Perisic had been.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the coach has identified the lack of a capacity to get past opponents one-on-one as a major deficiency in the squad since Perisic’s departure.

Whilst Inter have a number of players who are certainly capable of wreaking havoc with off-ball movement like Robin Gosens and Denzel Dumfries, and creative players like Federico Dimarco, they do not have a wide player capable of really taking an opponent off.

Accordingly, Tuttosport reports, Inzaghi would welcome another player of Perisic’s profile.

The Croat really thrived under Inzaghi last season, as he showed that he could play the wingback position in the former Lazio coach’s 3-5-2 system adeptly, if slightly unorthodoxly.

Accordingly, Inzaghi would welcome the arrival of a traditional winger who is proficient in one-on-one situations to repurpose into a wingback as with Perisic.
