Inter are set to meet with the agents of defender Danilo D’Ambrosio at the start of January to begin contract extension talks.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who reported this evening via FCInterNews that the Nerazzurri are waiting to see what the 34-year-old’s wage demands are and will speak with his representatives early next month.

D’Ambrosio has found his role on the pitch limited so far this season, with injuries part of the reason why the experienced former Torino defender has not played much.

However, the Nerazzurri still value D’Ambrosio’s reliability and influence in the dressing room.

Accordingly, Sky report, the club would be open to extending the 34-year-old’s contract past the end of June 2023 when it currently runs out.

It remains to be seen what D’Ambrosio’s demands will be, and whether or not he extends his deal with the Nerazzurri or not will depend on this.
