Inter will wait until the spring to make a decision on whether or not to sign Francesco Acerbi on a permanent basis from Lazio.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908, who report that whilst the Nerazzurri are actively working to extend Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij’s contracts, a decision on Acerbi’s future will come later.
With all of Skriniar, de Vrij, and Danilo D’Ambrosio’s contracts running out at the end of June 2023 in addition to Acerbi’s loan deal from Lazio ending, it is far from clear what Inter’s defense will look like at the start of next season.
Extending Skriniar’s deal is a priority for the Nerazzurri and something they are actively working towards, whilst talks have already begun with de Vrij’s representatives.
In the case of Acerbi, the Nerazzurri are less certain of their preferred course of action.
The club will observe the 34-year-old’s performances over the rest of the season, and then make a decision in the spring on whether or not to make his loan from Lazio permanent.
