Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has informed Inter that he intends to look for a club in another league to join at the end of the season.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 30-year-old plans to listen to offers from clubs outside Serie A rather than accepting the Nerazzurri’s contract extension offer.

De Vrij changed agents to Federico Pastorello several months ago.

The Dutchman and his agent have had Inter’s offer of a new two-year deal on the same wages that he currently earns on the table for over a month.

Pastorello has informed the Nerazzurri that the player’s inclination is to move abroad, however.

De Vrij will wait to see what offers come in from teams in other leagues to sign on a free transfer when his contract with Inter expires at the end of June 2023.

If no offers that interest de Vrij arrive in the next few months, then it would be possible that he would reconsider the Nerazzurri’s contract extension offer.
