Inter captain Samir Handanovic is edging towards the exit door for June after losing his starting spot.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Libero, via FCInter1908, who report that the 38-year-old is seriously considering leaving Inter after a decade due to being out of the starting eleven, and that Reggina are keen to sign him.
Handanovic signed a contract extension with Inter in the summer, but only for one season.
The Slovenian began the campaign as the starting keeper, but it was only a couple of months before summer signing Andre Onana displaced him in the starting eleven.
This does not look likely to change given the Cameroonian former Ajax keeper’s form and increasing importance to the team.
Accordingly, Handanovic could well depart on a free transfer after more than a decade wearing an Inter shirt.
Reggina have emerged as one of the leading candidates to sign Handanovic in recent days, though only in the event that they are successful in their bid for Serie A promotion.
