Inter have now played their final friendly match of the World Cup break.
The Nerazzurri secured a positive result in the form of a 1-0 win over Sassuolo in their final friendly, and their performance backed it up.
Inter will have hoped to look fit, match-sharp, and in form against the Neroverdi, in anticipation of their return to Serie A action in less than a week against the league leaders.
In the view of Acerbi, the Nerazzurri showed exactly that in their 1-0 win over Alessio Dionisi’s side.
“We played a great match, especially in the first half,” Acerbi said of the win over Sassuolo.
“We were always in control at the back, a positive result like this always gives us confidence.”
Of his preferred position, Acerbi said that “My role is that of central defender, but I can also play on the left.”
“Bastoni has an excellent future ahead of him, he’s shown that he can grasp it.”
“Everyone is doing well,” he said, “I’m part of a group that’s in great form and we all get along well, I’m happy to be a part of it.”
Of the match against Napoli, Acerbi said that “We know that it will be a do-or-die match.”
“We have a month ahead of us where we can’t afford any missteps, it will be crucial.”
“We’ll start thinking about it from tomorrow onwards,” Acerbi said of the match against the Partenopei, “it will be up to us to play the way that we know to at San Siro and to bring home the result.”
