All of Atalanta’s Girogio Scalvini, Roma’s Chris Smalling, Udinese’s Rodrigo Becao, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie are on Inter’s radar in the event that Milan Skriniar does not extend his contract.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who name the quartet as some of the Nerazzurri’s main targets to reinforce their defense.

Inter could be forced to revamp their defense ahead of next season, with Skriniar and also Stefan de Vrij seeing their deals run out at the end of the season and no agreements yet on extensions.

Accordingly, the targets are starting to be lined up for the backline.

Young Atalanta defender Scalvini has emerged as one of the top targets, and would represent an ambitious signing for the future.

Meanwhile, Smalling would be available on a free transfer if he does not extend his contract with the Giallorossi, whilst Becao’s deal with Udinese runs out at the end of June 2024 which could mean that he’s available on a bargain.

Meanwhile, Hincapie is one last player who has been on Inter’s radar particularly since his displays with Ecuador during the World Cup, and he could be fast-tracked in the event that Skriniar doesn’t extend his deal.
