Former Napoli coach Andrea Agostinelli feels that both Inter and Juventus have not been as good as they potentially could have been so far this season.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, via FCInterNews, Agostinelli gave his thoughts on the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri’s form based on the first part of the season.

Inter and Juventus were both expected to be among the favourites to win the Serie A title this season, based on a combination of their form last campaign and the business that they did during the summer transfer window.

However, both have found themselves trailing league leaders Napoli by some distance, double digits in both cases.

Whilst a comeback in the Serie A title race over the second part of the campaign could hardly be excluded in either case, they will have to show much-improved form compared to the first part.

“Napoli have some room to breathe in the table, none of the teams behind them do,” Agostinelli said.

“If the team second in the table slips up, it’s virtually goodbye to the title.”

“Inter and Juventus have both underperformed their potential a lot,” he added.
