Inter are not worried that the ankle problem that striker Lautaro Martinez during the World Cup will be a problem from January onwards.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 25-year-old underwent tests with the Nerazzurri’s medical staff, which revealed there is no serious lingering injury.

During the World Cup, Martinez felt some pain in his ankle, which was part of what he attributed his stuttering form at the tournament to.

This led to some worry that if the problem were to be ongoing, it could also affect his performances upon his return to Inter.

The Argentine was back in training and underwent tests with the Nerazzurri’s medical staff to check the condition of his ankle.

According to Tuttosport, the medical staff have reassured the club that based on the results of the tests, there is little reason to expect that Martinez will not be at full fitness during the packed January schedule.
