Inter strike pair Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko looked like they are ready to make a return to competitive action based on their performances in yesterday evening’s friendly win over Sassuolo.
This is the view on today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who praise the duo for their performances in the 1-0 win over the Neroverdi.
It was Dzeko who scored Inter’s only goal yesterday evening, capping off a fine overall display.
Meanwhile, Lukaku did not look quite as sharp in front of goal, but formed an efficient and coordinated partnership with the Bosnian.
The pair held the ball up well, linked up with each other, and gave the team an outlet on the counterattack.
For the Gazzetta, this was a positive test of the duo’s capacities as a strike partnership, and an indicator that they would be well-suited to starting the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Napoli next week.
