AC Milan are planning to get French duo Theo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud up to full speed for the Supercoppa Italiana clash against Inter next month.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, the Rossoneri flew out to Eindhoven during the winter break but Hernandez and Giroud remained in Milan, and returned to training this weekend after featuring in France’s World Cup final defeat.

The pair will undergo personalised training sessions and full-back Hernandez is in line to face Salernitana from the start in Serie A on Wednesday, with striker Giroud expected to feature from the bench.

Milan’s plan is to build up the fitness again of the two players and ensure they hit peak form and condition in time to take on Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana on 18 January.

It represents the first opportunity for silverware this season and Milan hope to have both players ready to face the Nerazzurri in optimal condition.
