Inter are hoping to offload unwanted defender Dalbert in the January transfer window as he closes in on a return following a serious knee injury.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Repubblica, the Brazilian fullback is on the verge of recovering from a knee injury suffered in July that prevented Inter from moving him on in the summer, but a return to fitness will allow the Nerazzurri to sell him.

Having spent last season on loan at Cagliari, the former Vitoria de Guimaraes defender does not fit into Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s plans and the Nerazzurri are keen to offload him to get his wages off their books.

Dalbert has been offered to Serie B club Genoa and it is expected that developments will take place in the coming days, as the Grifone consider an approach for the 29-year-old.

Having arrived at Inter from Nice in 2017, Dalbert has only made 27 appearances for the club and was sent out on loan to Fiorentina and Rennes, prior to his deal with Cagliari.
