Inter are waiting for an answer from defender Milan Skriniar as they hope to tie him down to a new contract, but he is still weighing up his options.

According to Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi, via his YouTube channel, the Slovakia international is yet to decide on whether to commit his future to Inter amidst interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Inter have not met Skriniar’s demands and their offer is lower than what PSG would be willing to pay him, as the former Sampdoria defender approaches the final six months of his contract and will be available as a free agent in the summer.

“I can tell you that the French sources who in the summer were strong on PSG’s offensive, now we have heard them and they are very reserved, they are not talking,” Barzaghi revealed.

“This shows that the moment is delicate and decisive for Skriniar’s future. As I have reported for some time, he is reflecting.”

The journalist also suggested that Inter were keen to get an answer from Skriniar so as to plan accordingly, and were set to hold further negotiations next month in an effort to convince him to extend his stay at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

“Inter have asked for a definitive answer. A meeting with his agent is expected in mid-January, the Nerazzurri could insert a bonus at the signing of €2 million, but we are still talking about figures that are far from what Paris Saint-Germain would offer,” Barzaghi added.

Skriniar has made 236 appearances for Inter since joining in 2017, scoring 11 goals.
