Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is looking to make a positive impact when he returns to face Inter at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday, a year on from a horrific injury sustained there.

As highlighted in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Osimhen suffered fractures to his left orbit and cheekbone, requiring extensive surgery and a lengthy hospital stay, after a clash of heads with Inter centre-back Milan Skriniar.

The newspaper suggests that Osimhen has a point to prove as he looks to fire leaders Napoli a step closer to the Scudetto, and the mask he must now wear to protect his eye and cheek are like that of a hero, and one who will drag the Partenopei to the title.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Luciano Spalletti’s side impressed in a warm up match over Juve Stabia yesterday, as they recorded a 6-1 win and brought the injured Amir Rrahmani back into the fold.

For the match against Inter, midfielder Stanislav Lobotka is a certain starter but it is suggested that one of Piotr Zielinski and Andre-Frank Anguissa will drop out, to allow Tanguy Ndombele to provide a more physical presence.

Former Inter defender Juan Jesus will partner Kim Min-Jae at centre-back, whilst the attack will comprise of Osimhen flanked by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and ex-Inter man Matteo Politano.
