Former Cagliari striker Jeda has urged Inter coach Simone Inzaghi to pair Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku in attack against Napoli on Wednesday.

The Nerazzurri return to Serie A action after the World Cup break when they host the league leaders at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, and Inzaghi has Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa available to him, in addition to Dzeko and Lukaku.

Appearing on Italian television broadcaster SportItalia yesterday, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, Jeda argued that Dzeko and Lukaku would be the best pairing to challenge Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli side and inflict a first league defeat of the season on them.

“I would start with Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku, to then take advantage of Lautaro Martinez in the second half,” the Brazilian declared.

“Lukaku needs trust and to know that the coach trusts him. In any case, I would risk both, given that Dzeko is a very intelligent player; everyone plays well alongside him. I think we will find Napoli as they left off.”

Napoli currently sit 11 points clear of Inter after 15 matches and are on course for a first league title since 1990.

Jeda represented Cagliari and Lecce in Serie A, in a career which took in a host of clubs across Italian football, including Rimini, Palermo, Catania, and Crotone.
