Inter have not set a deadline for defender Milan Skriniar to decide on whether to accept a new contract, but hope to receive an answer soon.

According to FCInterNews.it, the Nerazzurri have not specified a date by which the Slovakia international must make his intentions clear, and the player himself is in no rush to make a final decision.

Skriniar is reported to be currently unsatisfied with the terms presented to him, with Inter offering wages of €6 million plus a further €500,000 in bonuses per year, and it short of his demands.

It is noted that Skriniar is not in discussions with any other club and his priority is to remain with Inter beyond the end of his current contract, which expires in June, despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ligue 1 club have proposed a far higher wage than Inter, and Skriniar is hoping that their interest in him will convince the Nerazzurri to up their offer to €6.5m net, plus a further €1m in bonuses.

This would bring him in line with striker Lautaro Martinez and midfielder Marcelo Brozovic at the top end of Inter’s wage scale, and the 27-year-old is not expected to accept a new deal unless the offer is increased.

Should they fail to reach an agreement with him, Inter would be set to lose Skriniar on a free transfer at the end of the season rather than cash in on him this month.

Whilst Chelsea have withdrawn their interest, former Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte remains keen on bringing Skriniar to Tottenham Hotspur, and it is expected that other clubs will consider an approach should he become available as a free agent this summer.
