Inter are keen to secure striker Romelu Lukaku on loan for a second season, and talks with Chelsea could pave the way for the Premier League club to sign Denzel Dumfries.

According to Italian television broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, the Nerazzurri are keen to retain Lukaku in 2023-24, after bringing him back to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on a temporary basis last summer.

Inter enjoy a positive relationship with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, cultivated during talks to sell midfielder Cesare Casadei last year and in the negotiations to sign Lukaku, and are ready to contact him again to sign the Lukaku for a second season.

Netherlands international Dumfries has emerged as a target for Chelsea after starring at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and discussions for Lukaku could see the West London club take advantage in order to make progress in their approach for the wingback.

Dumfries joined Inter from PSV Eindhoven in 2021 and has scored seven goals in 65 appearances.
