Premier League club Leicester City have made the first move in the race to sign Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, amidst interest from Inter.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of French outlet L’Equipe, the Foxes have approached Angers with an offer worth €20 million upfront for the Morocco international.

The deal could rise to €30m with bonuses and add-ons in the event that Leicester secure qualification for the Champions League, as they seek to move ahead of the competition.

Ounahi was a revelation as Morocco reached the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, eventually losing to France, and his performances for the Atlas Lions has seen Inter and Napoli compete for him.

However, it appears that Leicester are determined to take the 22-year-old to England and will test Angers’ resolve to hold onto him in the January transfer window.

Ounahi joined Angers from Avranches in 2021 and has made 47 appearances for the club, scoring twice.
