Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti is expected to turn to Matteo Politano for the trip to Inter in Serie A on Wednesday.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Roma coach has almost reached a final decision on his starting line-up for the match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as the Partenopei look to move 14 points clear of Inter with victory.

Spalletti is likely to select former Inter winger Politano over Hirving Lozano, and the Italian will join Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in flanking striker Victor Osimhen.

Elsewhere, Spalletti may also select another former Nerazzurri player in Juan Jesus to start at centre-back, with concerns over the fitness of Amir Rrahmani following a recent injury.

Rrahmani made his comeback in a friendly against Juve Stabia on Friday but may not be ready to start the match, so Jesus will partner Kim Min-Jae at the heart of the Azzurri’s defence.
