Former Inter defender Mrco Andreolli feels that while midfielder Marcelo Brozovic will be a big miss for the Nerazzurri, there are other players who can pick up the slack.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio CRC, via FCInterNews, the former defender noted that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has a deep squad at his disposal despite the loss of Brozovic for a few matches through injury.

Brozovic will miss at least a few matches with a calf injury.

The club have confirmed the injury, whilst reports suggests that the player will be out for around two weeks recovering from the problem.

This could be a problem for the Nerazzurri, although considering how the team coped in Brozovic’s absence prior to the World Cup break, it may not be as big a worry as might be expected.

Brozovic had been out for around a month with a thigh injury during the first part of the season, but the team largely got the results that they needed with Hakan Calhanoglu playing in his customary deeper position.

“Inzaghi had already had to deal with his absence during the first part of the season, and he handled it well,” Andreolli noted.

“He’s an important player, but Inter have a deeper squad and found a way to make up for being without him.”
