Former Napoli, Lazio, and Sampdoria midfielder Dario Marcolin feels that if Inter can beat Napoli tomorrow, it will not just be a big boost for them in the Serie A title race.

Speaking to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews, the former midfielder stressed that AC Milan and Juventus would benefit every bit as much from a Nerazzurri win.

Three points from tomorrow’s match would reduce Inter’s deficit from Napoli to eight points.

In addition, if the Nerazzurri were able to win tomorrow’s match, there is little question that it would give the team a boost in confidence and send a message.

It is not just Inter who have ground to make up on the Partenopei, however.

Should the Nerazzurri beat the league leaders, this would open the door for Milan to reduce the gap to just five points from the top, whilst Juventus could pull within seven.

“If Inter can manage to beat Napoli, it would give a big boost not just to them, but also to Milan and Juventus, because Napoli’s fixture list is far from straightforward from here on out,” Marcolin noted.
