Inter are awaiting the response of defender Stefan de Vrij to their contract extension offer, whilst transfer interest in the Dutchman is emerging.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who reported this afternoon that the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Feyenoord are keen on signing the 30-year-old on a free transfer if he does not extend his Nerazzurri contract.

Inter have now put their contract extension offer to de Vrij forward.

The proposal on the table is for a new two-year deal at the same wages that the 30-year-old former Lazio player currently earns.

According to Mediaset, the Nerazzurri are still waiting on the player’s response.

In the meantime, both Tottenham and Feyenoord are two of the teams with the strongest interest in trying to sign de Vrij.

Should the Duchman leave on a free transfer in the summer, then the Nerazzurri’s plan would be to replace him with a free transfer signing of their own, Roma defender Chris Smalling.
