Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is hoping that he can be back from injury in time for the team’s Supercoppa Italiana match against AC Milan in mid-January.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the club’s goal is to have the Croat back in action for the clash with the Rossoneri on January 18.
Brozovic is set to be out for around two weeks with a calf problem that had been discovered during tests by Inter’s medical staff yesterday.
The problem is relatively minor and should not rule the 30-year-old out for more than that, but he should still miss a few matches during the packed January fixture list.
The Nerazzurri could optimistically project that Brozovic could be ready to return to the pitch as soon as the Serie A clash with Hellas Verona later this month.
However, the real goal is to have the Croat fit for when the team face city rivals Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana match in Saudi Arabia.
