AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli does not feel that Inter’s Serie A clash with Napoli this evening will necessarily have a decisive role to play in the Serie A title race.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInterNews, the Rossoneri coach gave the view that it’s still a long season, and that the team who wins the Scudetto will likely need to pick up at least 85 points.

Inter face off against league leaders Napoli this evening in a match which could give themselves their last chance to really assert themselves as Serie A title contenders.

Meanwhile, the likes of Milan, Juventus, and Lazio will also be keeping an eye on the result of this evening’s match, as it will also be important for them to see the Partenopei pegged back.

For Pioli’s part, however, the coach does not yet think that it is early enough to speak of the match being decisive in terms of the Serie A title race.

“I don’t think it will be decisive,” he said when asked about this evening’s match, “there are still a lot of matches left to play.”

Pioli added that “We’re not focusing on what happens in the other matches, we’re only thinking about ourselves.”

He concluded that “To win the Scudetto it will take a lot of points, probably more than 85, so we have to win as many matches as we can.”
