Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi will be keeping striker Lautaro Martinez ready as a possible super sub for the second half of this evening’s Serie A match against Napoli.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908, who report that the coach is thinking of the Argentine as an option to change the game as proceedings wear on.

Martinez is not likely to start against the Partenopei.

The 25-year-old has been back in training for less than a week, whilst the duo of Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku have shown fine form in the friendly matches during the break.

This does not mean that Martinez is not ready to affect the match, however.

From the bench, a player of Martinez’s quality could be a very impactful addition to the match as Napoli start to tire.

This is Inzaghi’s approach to using the World Cup winner, according to the Corriere.
