Inter defender Francesco Acerbi feels that the team played a great match against Napoli to take three points, and that they can continue to believe in the Serie A title.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, the 34-year-old gave the view that the Nerazzurri showed their title credentials to beat the Partenopei, although they must remain humble.

Three points were a virtual necessity against Napoli for Inter to show that they are still in the Serie A title race.

The Nerazzurri accomplished this with an organized, committed, and technically assured display on both sides of the ball.

Acerbi played a key role by marshalling Napoli strike Osimhen well, whilst all of the 34-year-old’s teammate showed their class and the team as a whole showed great physicality, organization, and tactical awareness to take home a massive win.

“We did very well this evening,” the defender said after the match.

“We remained alert, we knew it was a do-or-die match for us.”

Acerbi noted that “We were aggressive, contained their dangerous players, and had a great match.”

As far as the Serie A title goes, the defender said that “We believe in it, but it’s all up to us.”

“If we go away to Monza and then don’t play a real Inter match like this, then it will all have been for nothing.”

Acerbi said that “It’s still the same as ever, we’ve just taken a step forward, including in terms of our confidence.”

The 34-year-old noted that “We have players who can make the difference.”

“In football, however, quality comes second, and the strength of the group always comes first.”

He noted that “We have all the qualities necessary to go on a winning streak and do well until the end of the season.”

“It all depends on us,” Acerbi closed, “we also have to remain humble no matter what.”
