Legendary former Inter striker Alessandro Altobelli feels that this evening’s match against Napoli is one in which the Nerazzurri have everything to lose.

Speaking to Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition, via FCInterNews, the former striker also gave the view that whilst the Nerazzurri have a very strong squad, Napoli’s overall style of play is the best in Serie A.

Inter will face one of the toughest tests of their season so far when they come up against league leaders Napoli.

The fixture list has given Simone Inzaghi’s team the in-form Partenopei right after the World Cup break, and they will have to find a way to peg the seemingly unstoppable league leaders back.

Doing so will not be easy, although the reward for it would certainly be obvious.

On the other hand, as Altobelli emphasizes, if Inter cannot overcome Luciano Spalletti’s highly impressive side, it could be a damaging blow to them in the context of their season.

“Inter have great individual players, but Napoli play the best style of football,” the former striker said.

“Napoli look like a team on the pitch, they are compact, they move in harmony, they play by memory.”

“They stood alone as the best team in Serie A up until the break,” he added.

Altobelli argued that “Inter have everything to lose.”

“Even if they win, they wouldn’t catch up with the league leaders,” he noted.

Altobelli also gave his thoughts on Nerazzurri striker Romelu Lukaku, noting that “He has been dealing with a lot of injuries, but he remains an excellent player.”
