Inter striker Edin Dzeko feels that the Nerazzurri are well-prepared for what awaits them in this evening’s Serie A clash with league leaders Napoli.
Speaking to InterTV, via FCInterNews, the 36-year-old emphasized that the team have had a long time to anticipate this match, and now they are raring to get out on the pitch and play it.
It has now been 52 days since Inter last took to the pitch in Serie A.
The team’s return will be a match against league leaders Napoli, which will be virtually must-win for the Nerazzurri.
This promises to be one of the Nerazzurri’s most difficult tests of the entire season.
As far as striker Dzeko is concerned, however, it is a match in which they know what it will take to get the result that they want out of.
“We really want to get out there, it’s a match we’ve been waiting for for a long time and we just want to get out there and play it,” he said.
“I expect it will be a difficult match because Napoli are a great team and over the past six months they’ve shown what they’re capable of, which is a lot,” he continued.
“They’re a team who can do virtually anything, but we’re a great team too and we’re ready.”
Of the effect of playing at the San Siro, Dzeko said that “We’re at home, let’s hope it can be a big advantage for us.”
The striker noted that “We’ll have 75,000 fans behind us pushing us on until the last minute, we’ll give our best on the pitch.”
