The City Council of Milan is waiting to see if an injunction against demolishing the San Siro is granted before it can give its final approval to the new stadium plans of Inter and AC Milan.
This according to Italian news outlet La Repubblica, via FCInter1908, who report that the clubs have Plan B at the ready in the event that an injunction is to stop them from demolishing the San Siro, effectively precluding the possibility of building within Milan.
Inter and Milan are moving ahead on their plans to build a new stadium by updating the dossier with their plans to include requests from the city council based on the result of the public debate.
These requests include increasing the capacity from 60,000 to around 70,000, and adding more green space to the plans.
However, securing the final approval to begin construction will not be possible if an injunction is secured by opponents of demolishing the San Siro.
As things stand, the City Council is waiting and watching how the process of opponents seeking the injunction unfolds.
